| Seems like most of the "purists" don't consider the 350Z to be worthy of the Z badge (not speaking of all people, or even those on this board). Buying a ~14 year old is going to require a LOT more care and maintenance than a new one (or atleast that care and maintenance will be cheaper/free on the new one). Not everybody is a shadetree mechanic and want to put up with the downtime required to take your car in to have it modified to current spec. Buying a car that old will also have to be a much more careful process. Atleast with a new or nearly new car, you have a good idea of what you are getting into. Not everybody knows how to perform a buyers inspection on the spot. Sure, there are those of us with multiple cars (even collections in some cases, hah) and can be without our recreational vehicle for weeks at a time... and there are others who just want to buy the car they want, and drive away without a worry to be had. It depends on the buyer, really. I am not advocating one over the other. I'm sure they are both great cars. Test drives are your friend. Since OP has already owned a z32, he should definately drive some z33's. But if the newer styling is such a turn-off, sounds like a non-decision. All depends on the consumer.
